Lucas Museum Relies on K&A for a Seamless Employee Badging Experience

K&A collaborated with 4S Security to deliver an enterprise badge printing solution designed around reliability, convenience, and a first-class user experience.

The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art needed a credentialing system that matched the quality of the project itself — balancing security, convenience, durability, and a premium user experience.

As one of Los Angeles’ most anticipated cultural destinations, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art was preparing to support employees, contractors, vendors, security personnel, and service providers across a sprawling campus.

The museum was still under construction when K&A became involved. Security offices, gate stations, and loading areas all required badge issuance capabilities, while museum leadership wanted a polished experience that reflected the caliber of the project itself.

The museum’s access control infrastructure was being implemented by Chicago-based 4S Security. While 4S specialized in enterprise access control systems, they brought K&A into the project to help design and deploy the credentialing and badge production program. With opening preparations underway and little room for error, the goal was a solution that would be reliable, easy to manage, and ready to support daily operations from day one.

“We just took on the job, knocked everything out real quickly for them, delivered the products, walked them through the remote install, did the training, and took the training wheels off the bike.”

We get you up to speed and then take the training wheels off.

The Solution

Enterprise Badge Printing Solution Designed for Reliability

K&A worked alongside 4S Security to design and deploy a complete enterprise badge printing solution tailored to the museum’s needs and high-profile visibility.

Rather than simply shipping hardware, K&A worked closely with 4S Security and museum personnel to ensure badge production could work efficiently at multiple locations throughout the property. Badge printers were configured, badge templates were prepared, and staff received guidance to ensure a smooth rollout from day one.

The result was a secure credential program that could be deployed across security offices, guard stations, and loading docks throughout the museum campus while maintaining a consistent experience for employees, contractors, and vendors.

The Results

2000 +

Secure Credentials

K&A initially provided 2,000 secure credentials for the museum’s deployment. As the program has grown, that number has now surpassed 6,000.

The credentials support secure facility access for employees, contractors, vendors, and security personnel across the campus.

1

Retransfer Card Printers

Four Swiftpro K65 card printers were strategically deployed throughout the property to support convenient badge issuance wherever it was needed most.

This eliminated bottlenecks and reduced the need for centralized badge production.

10 Month

Under 30 Days Start to Finish

From initial consultation to printer training, the entire project was completed in less than a month.

Despite the compressed timeline, K&A delivered a credentialing program that was ready to support museum operations during construction.

One

Seamless Experience

No need for multiple vendors when the museum and 4S Security had a trusted credentialing partner guiding the process from A to Z.

From template design and hardware setup to the first print, K&A helped ensure badge production was ready when the facility needed it.
