At MetLife Building, K&A completed PACS systems integration for multi-tenant access control across 39 tenants and thousands of credentials.
In August 2020, Tishman Speyer brought K&A in for a critical access control project at the 59-story MetLife Building at 200 Park Avenue.
With dozens of tenants — from enterprise companies with specialized PACS requirements to small businesses still using legacy RFID readers — consolidating to a single secure credential was a massive puzzle. Every tenant system differed in technology, maintenance, and security standards, creating major challenges for a building-wide solution.
The goal was to create one interoperable credential for every user while preserving landlord-controlled security. Already serving as secure credential custodian across multiple Tishman Speyer properties, K&A brought the technical expertise and enterprise experience needed to solve the problem.
“We knew we needed to get the job done right – the first time.”
Cody Dembiec, Project Manager, K&A Industries
We get the job done right the first time.
K&A approached the MetLife Building challenge with a structured, technical strategy designed to make every tenant system work together.
By carefully testing and validating every configuration, K&A ensured tenants could move seamlessly between common areas and private office spaces without disruption.

The Results
All 39 tenants were re-badged within a unified access control system tailored to the needs of each organization.
The result was secure, seamless access throughout the building.
More than 15,000 outdated access cards were transitioned to the upgraded building-wide system.
K&A completed the migration without disrupting daily tenant operations.
PACS Turnstile Readers Installed
K&A installed 20 new PACS turnstile readers to support secure access throughout MetLife Building.
These readers allow tenants to move reliably between common areas and private office spaces.
